#3 Jan-20 Version T12 - Ambushes and Station Map


Another week as gone by already, time really flew this week.

Version T12 is out now and prepare yourself as it’s one of the version which I had the least time to test.

This week was crazy, the main goal was to work on the space station map, so players can see the layout of their station as well as adding rooms, which didn’t sound all that hard in theory and that’s where my mistake ended up being, don’t worry the map mostly work right now!

In the end I spent all week on that one feature(which en globes different things) because I decided that it would be nicer if people had the possibility to make other things then square rooms, I also had to remake pretty much the entire system that generated station rooms and how those were saved.

As well as then fixing different things that used to be linked to that like recoloring rooms and such.

What I’m trying to say is, this was a really frustrating week in a way, 7 days since the last version and I don’t have much to show for it content wise, lot of reflection, debugging, struggling, prototyping you name it. But it be like that, some weeks are up and up and some are just straight into the gutters, the important part is to get back up from the gutters.

With that said here are the changes in version 12.

Changes :

  • Creation of a map UI, open it with m
    • Ability to expand rooms
    • Ability to create new rooms
    • Ability to create new doors
    • Note :
      • All actions are free
      • You can’t remove any cell as of now
      • You may have to exit a room and re-enter if you’re editing a room you’re in
  • New Space Station Default Layout
  • Fixed a bug where the box would eat your items
  • R.F.P.T the friendly npc as been temporarily removed of the station until he can have a bed.

For next week :

The first thing I want to do for next weeks release is look back at the change I made cause there’s going to be some bugs for sure and the UI needs to be more organised and probably add some help menu for it.

Aside from that I want to focus on content a bit more this week and start on solar system rotation, as real life time goes on, the planet and moons and other celestial around your station will change, so that you players can keep getting resources to expand your station, and like I mentioned adding maybe a couple more furniture items.
